The Sandbar Cottage is located on the banks of the beautiful Montague River, which is one of three heritage river in the area. Montague is in eastern Prince Edward Island.

The Montague River is part of the three rivers heritage river system. They are called the Cardigan, Brudenell and the Montague Rivers, which flow into the Georgetown Harbour.
